The Vostro 2420 has a 1366x768 screen that is non IPS so angles matter when looking at it closely. I'm used to my UltraSharp so it looks pretty bad but for the price it`s fine.
There is a webcam and it works on Ubuntu.
3 USB ports, 1 VGA and 1 HDMI along with mic and headphone.
Also it comes with a 6 cell battery so approx 2:15-3 hours max. It`s only 48Wh and for reference Type:J1KND

Unfortunately not - 500GB and 4GB of RAM is what it is. My daughter has this same laptop and it's pretty snappy. If you need more HD space - get a plug in.

Don't believe so. I'd also like to customize it more. On other dell models you can pay an extra $20 and get a backlit keyboard installed. I would jump on this if it were an option.

What the heck is this?
I decided to go ahead and get the laptop and chose PayPal as payment method to get the 5% cashback (along with the 3.5% through RFD).
Anyways all went fine, or so I thought.
Just got this email from Dell.
This is to inform you that we received your order and the Mode of Payment you have chosen is Pay Pal . Unfortunately the same has been Declined and the order is still pending which is yet to be processed .If you want to Proceed with the order you can choose another Mode of Payment like Credit Card.
My PayPal is in good standing and I chose to use funds from my bank account. I check transaction in PayPal and it shows as "pending" but everything looks good.
So what is Dell's issue?

Yeah coupons seem to be done, looks like there were only 100 of them. Still even w/o the extra $20-30 off, it's a great deal, and better than all the other random crap consumer laptops out there for BF, in this price range.

Personally, I'd definitely go with the Vostro. Better build, smaller laptop. I think that Inspiron is up to $379 now and even at even prices this is better IMO.

According to live agent theres also 3 usb 2.0 and NO 3.0 ... how can they NOT list usb anywhere in the specs??
probably no msata as well
Only i3 available but first description page shows below...why are they too lazy to edit pages when they 'restrict' 'upgrades' during these 'sales'?
