Bring back the 10 days of Christmas LCD deals. Otherwise, this is crap.

True. Latitudes' casing is magnesium.

I've been pricing out laptops at dell, what do you guys think of this?
Inspiron 5160
- Mobile Pentium® 4 Processor 532 w/HT Technology (3.06GHz, 533MHz FSB)
- Microsoft® Windows® XP Home
- 15 inch XGA LCD Panel
- 512MB,333MHz,2 DIMMs
- 64MB DDR NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX Go5200 AGP 4x Graphics
- 80GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive
- 24X CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive with Sonic RecordNow
- 12-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery (96 WHr)
- Dell Wireless 1450 Internal Wireless (802.11a/b/g, 54Mbps) Mini-PCI card
- 3 Yr Limited Warranty plus 3 Yr Return-to-Depot Service 24x7 Phone Support
It says it would be $1,606.26 with taxes shipping etc... Is that a good deal, or should I just wait for something better
? Or is there something better out there right now?
What's better about the 600m?
Thanks in advance!

Honestly, nothing is really hot at Dell. Even the 1150 is only mild. The 5160 and 600m were both on way cheaper throughout early december, and included upgraded wireless cards, ect.

A couple of pounds lighter, ~.5 inch thinner and comparable battery life with a battery half the size.

Not bad, but $584 is nowhere near the lowest I've seen it lately - just 2 weeks before Christmas it was $519.
I ended up using a Dellf coupon and got it for $486. I'm glad I didn't wait for these supposed "Boxing Day Bargains" from Dell.

It is. You can't use it on Dell.ca, but if you call a CSR you can try. It's not guaranteed, but it worked for me without any problems.
