Monitor Deal of the Day as part of their 12 Days of Deal..... ends tonight.

According to Photoprice.ca this monitor has gone down to $629 previously, but don't know in which conditions that was.

$664 is a pretty good price if you're looking for a wide-gamut monitor for precise colour applications. You can maybe get a few extra discounts if you call in do Dell, better than the potential 2.5% cashback through RFD.

If you need the 10 bit color. Otherwise it's just a overpriced premium panel.
High res monitors should drop price to sub 500 imho... they're just too expensive for so many years.

CAD isn't helping. But I agree, sub $300 should be the norm for 27" 1440p and sub $500 for 27" 4K brand name

The price jump here isn't so much in panel res but in the color depth. If color rendering is important for your work, the wide-gamut is a must.

For the record, I ordered a U2715H yesterday for $599.99 from Dell. I think it was $500 at the beginning of the year so I didn't think it was that hot, but I think it was better than this...

They have different end users; the monitor posted by the OP is meant for certain professionals who need a wide gamut monitor whereas the U2715H is just meant for a regular user.

If you don't need the 10bit color, there's other options out there for 27" 1440p monitors, that are below $500 and routinely drop way lower.

I bought two of these in the winter when Amazon had them at $429 each, they're fantastic so far (paired with a Gigabyte 970 G1). I don't play any hardcore gaming, but everything I do play runs really well on them, and the 970 has no issues pushing most games at 1440p with a decent enough framerate. I also do a lot of work at home, multiple spreadsheets/programming windows open, a few VM screens, they work and look awesome for that.
