I would be surprised that a RFD would be interested in a 2grand monitor

RedFlagDeals, not RedFlagPoor. People post deals for $5000 watches and $75,000 cars here too, having money doesn't preclude people from wanting to save it.

Is this the best recent price on this? Been looking for an ultrawide.

I believe it was cheaper about a month ago(~$1300), but a number of the orders were cancelled by dell at that price. I believe it hit the 1400 price point a couple times too.

It's a shame this is an ultra short-screen monitor or else I might bite. The aspect ratio is really useless in games because they're all designed around 16:9.

incorrect analogy. $2000 monitor is in the top 1% spectrum of monitors. $5000 watches and $75,000 is at best above average - premium, but it is not where close to top 1%. You need Patek or Ferrari as a fair comparison.

for that value, are you sure people'd still willing to spend that proportion into a monitor? If anyone of you actually bought this, then prove me wrong.

So you're saying that someone who spends $1500 on something they use every single day with clear benefits is in the same group as people who spend hundreds of thousands on their car?

Brilliant.

Mind if I ask which one you bought and your thoughts on it? If be coming from a 27 inch 1440p 144hz TN panel. Also a bit concerned about games that support 21:9.

Considering the most popular tv threads were lg oled and sony x900e from last year instead of say rca/hisense/vizio m, it should give you an idea of the spending demographic on rfd. RFD is about saving money but not always about cheap stuff... instead its about good deals on expensive stuff.
