Is DELL cheating customers in its promotion?

I placed an order on last Friday, December 3rd, paid by PAYPAL, and received a mail from Dell with topic of “Dell Order Has Been Acknowledged‏”. But this Monday morning, another mail came from Dell with topic “Attention, An Online Order That You Own Has Been Cancelled. ** Action Required **‏ “. In the mail, it said “This product is no longer available”.

Is Dell cheating with us??!!!

If the TV is not available, why Dell put it online? And why customer can put the order last Friday?

How is Dell "cheating" you?

“Dell Order Has Been Acknowledged‏”
Acknowledged doesn't mean Accepted, let alone Processed or Shipped. It just means they got your order and are reviewing it. They can cancel your order at that point if they determine there was a pricing error, your payment didn't go through, “This product is no longer available”, etc. That doesn't mean they're cheating you.

P.S. When Future Shop et al's website indicates something is in stock at your store but, when you get there they're out of stock, that doesn't mean they're cheating you either ;)

Get a credit card next time. Paypal is crap, forces retailers to stall for payment verification.
Serves you right.

When there is a hot deal, or promotion there are literally hundreds (if not thousands) of orders placed. The stock lags a bit and orders are shipped in the order. Suck it up, move on, and stop making duplicate theads for silly issues.

well, isn't now PALPAL and DELL having a pay/buy more than $599 and you can have $50 back? why cannot i pay by PP?

well, since it turns out that PAYPAL and DELL don't even honor the promise they make, the only choice is to be away from them...

you know, it was online order. when something sold up, it is easily to control the order immediately.

+1 All you are doing is making an offer to purchase the item. Dell declined your offer because it's first come first serve and they don't have an infinite amount of stock.

I agree it sucks when stuff you want is out of stock but you are hardly getting cheated.

You know, sometimes a vendor's system is broken. Or maybe between the time they acknowledged your order and tried to verify payment they went OOS. That doesn't mean they're cheating you.

Unless there are multiple orders all done at the sametime. These things are not instant. If you are going to shop online, you need to accept that this is a possible outcome no matter where you shop. Dell is not cheating anybody.
