Any thoughts on the LG Bluray BD640 player with WiFi for $69.99? Amazon reviews seem to be ok. Price at Amazon is about the same for a refurb. It doesn't say support for Xvid but it does support MPG4.

There you go, a $10 Belkin router, and still overpriced. Slow, buggy, unable to port forward. 2 megs rom. A winning combination! Needless to say, a DD-WRT flash is out of the question....

Just get a 24-port switch. I have never seen any home routers with more than 8 ports. Most only have 4. Get a 4 port router and a 24-port switch and connect them together.
That's 30 minutes away, I'll be there in 10.

Is that monitor any good for gaming? Isn't 60 Hz straining for the eye? Does anyone else have any experience with 60 Hz screens (not talking about TVs).

If you can spend a bit extra, wait for 23" IPS monitor to go on sale. Not necessarily a gaming monitor but IPS is usually better than TN panel for everything (viewing angles, colors, much better stand). Lowest sale price is $185 (normally $200 sale price), so your only spending ~$45 more.
