[Dell] Dell 24 Gaming Monitor: S2419HGF $279.99 (Reg $409.69)

Newbie first post here. Found this deal on Dell Canada.

Dell 24 Gaming Monitor: S2419HGF on sale now at $279.99 which regular price is $409.96.

24 inches 1920 x 1080p at 144Hz with AMD FreeSync. May not be a hot deal but considering that this is a monitor from Dell I believe this deal is worth to be mentioned.

Edit:

Thanks to hamhands found out that Costco is selling the same monitor at $199.99

You can get it for $200 from Costco

EDIT: There are a couple of caveats with this monitor that are reflected in the low price:

- This monitor does not perform very well at 144 Hz, as it is a 120Hz monitor that can overclock to 144Hz. You'll experience ghosting at 144Hz. No issues at 120Hz though.
- Response rate can technically go to 1ms, but you'll also experience ghosting issues. No issues when leaving the response rate at the Normal setting at 8ms.
- FreeSync only works over DisplayPort, not HDMI. Only an HDMI cable is included in the package.
- Viewing angles are bad, typical of TN panels.

All things considered, still a decent upgrade over, say, a budget 1080p 60Hz monitor. Could also use it as a second 144Hz monitor.
- Image quality is fine as long as you look straight on the display.
- Hard to notice the difference between 120Hz and 144Hz for most people.
- Solid build quality, and it has very nice adjustability in the stand (VESA-compatible, height, tilt, rotate)

Owned this monitor for about 2 months now, bought it at $199.99 at Costco and I'd say the price is about right. It's pretty much broken out of the box in a way because like someone mentioned previously if you put it to 144Mhz it freaks out and it you try to turn the response rate up it freaks out. So basically you're getting a high frequency monitor with standard monitor response times and all the washed out colours you've come to expect from a TN panel. It's fine if you're willing to accept all its failings. I was.
