Edit: I just noticed you're a new user, OP.

Don't let this response discourage you. People are very particular about their computers and computer component deals because they're low margin commodity items. It's difficult to find a deal which satisfies their interest.

As a matter of good practice, we also try to post the price of the product/service in the title, if feasible.

Welcome to RFD.

I don't follow exactly how the Dell site works with these different configurations. If you follow that link and click "View all configurations", you can find this one, which seems to have the same specs, but it's $1699 and NOT on sale. OP's link says the regular price is $1,648.99. Aside from all the specs looking like they're the same, the URL is pretty much the same (shows "S405E" in it, which seems to be the ID or name given to the configuration when compared to other configurations' URLs). So, why the different (regular) prices, and why is it showing only one of them as being on sale?

I'm semi-interested in the 17" G3, so I'd love to see that one on sale.

Truthfully without at least a GTX 1060 one would be much better off buying an HQ processor and saving several hundred dollars.

On ebay I have received numerous offers for H series units with the gtx 1060 in the last 3 weeks, often below $1k USD. One day they are available and next out of stock but they pop up all the time. I have seen i7 Hq units with the 1050ti as low as $689 USD.

Appreciate your posting but this is a very lukewarm deal.

Not recommended. Even the I5 has some issues with heat and throttling, go with the I5 version is better, but I wouldn't even go with it

Hi everyone,

I am interested in buying this laptop. I know many of you have raised heating issues. However, I will be using this laptop mainly for programming / media usage. I will play light gaming like gta 5 but only on medium settings. Do you think this laptop would a good fit ?

I have unidays and this is the lowest core i7 (6 cores / 12 threads) laptop i could find.
