10% with the VIP code for signing up to their mailing list, and 5% for the Dell Member Purchase Program code.
RFD mods are on a power trip... how about messaging me before changing my signature. Some common courtesy would have been nice.

I signed up for the mailing list here a few days ago but I never got an email for the coupon code.

Can these two be stacked? I was under the impression (based on the VIP email I got) that they cannot be stacked.

Just talked to someone at CS. They offered $100 at first then $150 dell coupon. I don't think this can be applied as a payment towards the the original purchase, however. Is this what you received? Too bad the Samsung 960 512GB is $409 CAD at the moment.

I did. That's how I got the price I did.

Damn, I didn't even try because of the email! Oh well, lesson learned on the next/future order.

FYI:
Sneak Peak at 2018 Dell XPS.
I recently was facing a tough decision between a handful of laptops and I finally chose the XPS 15 (first choice since the beginning but I had to be sure). I ordered it a couple days ago. I love the XPS beasts my 2011 XPS 17 still runs like the day I got it but I’m secretly afraid it’ll suddenly die.
Today, I was browsing Dell’s website and it appeared the 2018 XPS was accidentally published. I skimmed through the page mindlessly and then it dawned me that I just got a look at the new XPS. I foolishly refreshed and it was gone...
I had a chat with a dell agent and he confirmed that the refresh should occur in January
I see remnants of the refreshed XPS on the site right now. Small things like “the new XPS 15” and optional QuadHD+ (not available in current XPS 15 models)
http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-lap ... ps-laptops
They also published the new pricing model but with the 7th generation intel processors. Like I said, I’ve been shopping for awhile and these prices are newly published. The real prices for the current XPS 15 are on a different page with the discounts (only 4 configurations). At least that’s what I see on the Canadian site
http://www.dell.com/en-ca/work/shop/lap ... 560-laptop

So here are the details I did see for the new XPS 15 2018:
FHD, QuadHD+, and 5k screens. That’s right 5k!
8th generation intel processors. As expected
OPTIONAL: GTX 1060 not sure what the standard is with the models
Ports didn’t change other than one more USB-C port and the form factor didn’t appear any different. Unless the photos weren’t published. From what I saw it’s not white like the 2018 XPS 13.

Prices seemed to have gone up. Top of the line XPS 15 is at $3800 CAD before taxes. That’s MacBook Pro money ha

Got my XPS 15 on Friday, and finished setting it up today. It came with a 256GB SK Hynix PC300(PCIe NVMe) drive. Happy I didn't pay for the upgrade. Will upgrade to a 1TB Samsung drive soon.

*Edit*

I also contacted Dell to see if they can do anything about it. Either credit me some cash, or replace the drive for a Samsung one.
How did you contact them? Chat or call in?

I ordered an Inspiron 17 last week with 256GB SSD - do you know if there are performance issues on Windows 10 with the non-Samsung drives? Should be getting it next week.

I noticed that as well. MemEx in my city was quite a bit cheaper. I told them it would cost me around $150 locally, to buy an SSD that works better with Ubuntu, and to credit me $150 instead. The CSR I dealt with didn't put up a fight, and just okayed the $150 credit. I actually checked MemEx prices, and they had a WD m.2 SSD on sale for $150.

I used their Live Chat, but the person I dealt with through chat ended up calling me a few times anyway. I initiated the process through Live Chat though. For real world use, there really isn't a significant difference. The read/write speeds of the Samsung drives are significantly better, but the average user probably wouldn't notice. It's not like going from a mechanical drive to an SSD.

Thanks - I'm going to follow up and request a credit on my bill rather than the Dell credit. The more Dell credits I get, the more I am locked to ordering from them.........

Ya.... Dell used to be awesome back in the day, because you could haggle with their CSRs to get significant discounts. Now, you have to resort to using coupons and contacting their CSRs after receiving your purchase and nitpick about your order.
