[Dell] G5 gaming laptop 8750H+1060MQ+4K UHD

Since everybody is so excited about the new line of CPU, here is the current deal I found on dell Canadian site. Unidays code required and Ebates 10% not expired!

G5 8750H + 1060 MQ + 4K screen
http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/cty/pdp/ ... btsb_s626e

Price:
1850 - 185 (Unidays) - 166.5 (Ebates) = 1498.5 (before tax)

Pros: 1060MQ! 4K screen! 2x8GB RAM! What else are your looking for at this price?
Cons: I want the G7 white-blue case!!!! 128GB SSD is not NVMe.

G7 8750H + 1060 MQ
http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/cty/pdp/ ... 8_bt_s632e

Price:
1600 - 160 (Unidays) - 144 (Ebates) = 1296 (before tax)

Pros: 1060MQ ! with a price of ~1000 USD.
Cons: 2x4Gb ram. Possibly no NVMe SSD. 1-year mail-in service, really?

G7 8750H + 1050ti
http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/cty/pdp/ ... 8_bt_s804e

Price:
1400 - 140 (Unidays) - 126 (Ebates) = 1134 (before tax)

Pros: 1x8Gb, 1 year in-home service.
Cons: 1050ti about 30% less powerful than 1060MQ. No SSD, upgrade to M.2 SSD will cost extra.

G3 8750H + 1050Ti
http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/cty/pdp/ ... btsb_s210e

Price:
1300 - 130 (Unidays) - 117 (Ebates) = 1053 (before tax)

Pros: currently on sale, good price. Bigger screen.
Cons: 9462 wireless card, really Dell? Need to upgrade NVMe SSD. No cheap 1060MQ for G3.

Enjoy gaming with the new Coffee Lake!

Allow me to make a counter proposal. Microsoft Store. Lenovo Y720: CPU is one gen older. Same RAM. GTX 1060 is a much better GPU. 256 SSD instead. $1200.

For gaming the GPU will make more of a difference. The dell comes in a nice form especially in white and blue. Dell has a nicer screen too. But that GTX 1060 is so powerful compared to the 1050TI (max q?).

I ordered the white-blue edition. The Lenovo one is a nice one too if you are not looking for the new gen i7. In fact, I saw quite a few reviews on max-q version not much lower than the full 1060.

I'm dealing with support right now for my one month old Dell Inspiron 7577. I tried the Lenovo but I think the Dell is a better system. Too bad the G7 doesn't have a better GPU or i'd try that

With the price of SSDs dropping by so much, its a shame that a $1800 laptop still has a 1TB 5400rpm mechanical harddrive.

A 500GB SSD cost about $120 these days (fact: I just purchased a 500GB WD for $120 after tax) and how much would cost these companies to have a decent size SSD instead of these old drives?

Anyways this deal is cold as the white walkers in GoT...

I don't think it's quite ice dragon reborn cold. You can pay $50 for the SSD boot drive so It's a decent deal for a newly released laptop but not mother of dragons hot. I think the Lenovo is the best deal at the moment. I have not seen anything close to $1200 for a GTX 1060 recently.

Historically, there was Lenovo 720s in a very slim size that came with a 1050 ti max q and a i5 6th gen for about $900. Then the Lenovo y720 was bundled with a vr headset for $1300. Now it's $1200 without the VR headset.

I'm checking RFD every two hours for lap top deals!

So is the Microsoft deal is a better deal or what?

I need a laptop for school in September and would love something that I can also game on and not causing loud noises or heating issues any suggestions?

I’m currently on a tight budget but I would like to sell my ps4 for this laptop

Also is their an edu discount ?

My deals for G7 series are dead now they update the price yesterday. Ebates now gives 10% cash back you may look into it see if you can get a deal on G7. I only recommend 8300H and 1050ti combination for G3 before more critical reviews come out on YouTube.
