[Dell] Kingston HyperX Cloud Headset - $89.99 + 10% ebates

Was looking for a gaming headset and this was one of the best http://m.thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-gaming-headset/

Same price as Amazon.ca which is the lowest since Black Friday. Dell currently has 10% cash back so these came out to $80.99.

White/black same price - http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/accessor ... u=A8531022

I was able to get the newer Cloud 2 model for 83 on amazon last October.

Good headset, has nice sound and comfortable.

Had two Cloud 2 break in their first 3 months. The microphone cord is cheap and not detachable. It's a shame too since everything else is great about it. But that cord is not durable.

I picked up the HyperX Cloud Core mid-June 2016 for $49.99 from Dell. What's the difference between the Core and this one?

Got the headphones below from another RFD thread when they were $45 and a Mic as my new setup. Cost a little cheaper than the HyperX Cloud by OP with the added benefit of a fully removable 3.5mm cord.

Philips SHP9500S

V-MODA BoomPro Mic

Core is a strip down version without the Interchangeable Ear Pads (leatherette and velour), no Audio Control Box, and the connection is Single 3.5mm.

I'm suprised. I got a HyperX Cloud II about 18 months ago and it's still working great. I don't find the braided cable cheap at all and I like the face that the mic is detachable from the headset when I just want to listen to music.

As for the OP's deal, I know there are minor differences between Cloud & Cloud II, but my experience with Cloud II has been great so far,

I got a HyperX Cloud Core in October. It really is the best headset I've ever used. It has only one disadvantage: no surround sound. Although I think Cloud II has. Maybe. Not too sure about that.
Anyways, I think Turtle Beach isn't really any worse than HyperX, in fact, they make some of the best console headsets. Even though not every one of them comes with surround sound.
