APC is the best name in UPS but Belkin should be as good compared to APC's low end models. The cheapest APC (those on sale during the Dell Days sale) do not have AVR, so I will go for the Belkin.

we just put in a home standby generator, and my APC went nuts when the power went out last week, and the generator kicked in (even though the generator has a governor) - I think the Belkin with the AVR would probably be the better one to have.

Better.. I have a 1100VA Belkin and 2 APC 550VA, and I much prefer the Belkin software wise.. For the rest, a battery is a Battery :p

Btw, don't forget you can get 40% off Belkin.com with coupon code "12345".. Sometime it come cheaper (I paid like $130 all included for my 1100VA 1 year ago)

As usual - doing the PM was as much fun as ever. Three clerks study the DELL printout then one declares "We will not do the price match as the UPS from Dell is NOT a Belkin". The other two clerks nod knowingly at this wise statement.

I ask for a pen & circle the word BELKIN on the Dell printout & ask the clerk to tell me what the circled word says. Silence ensues followed by more studying of the printout. I guess he was hoping if he stared at it long enough the price would change.

Many frantic (on their end) moments later I walk out with my BELKIN UPS for $56.50 - taxes included - and having paid with my AtHome Staples Gift Cards I netted it for $45.20.

I went to the Mississauga heartland store with the Dell printout. First, they said they don't price match with Dell. Then I checked the price match policy and found Dell should be a valid competitor. So I called again. And then the staff said the one they have has the "with broadband protection", which is different from Dell's $59 one (Dell has another one with protection for $129).
So I tried calling staple.ca for a price match. And the CR said its out of stock

Where did you see the free shipping? Theres a note on the order page that shipping charges are currently not available online - you will be notified by phone or email. Makes it hard to price match.

I don't see any free shipping banner but Dell currently doesn't charge shipping on most peripheral purchases. Just add the item to you cart and enter the postal code, the shipping estimate is 0.00.
