A Celeron minitower with non-ECC RAM, no redundancy, an unknown but undoubtedly wimpy power supply and a desktop OS isn't called a server.
You want, call it a barebones desktop instead.
What it does have going for it is a 3 year warranty, that's not bad.
Remember you have to install your own optical drive and keyboard.

328$ if you select only 512 RAM
The 20$ saved gets you an extra gig and some change left @ MemoryHouse so you get 1.5 for the price of 1G

Unless you're getting this for a mid-big business, I wouldn't get an optiplex at all.

The selling point of this computer is the 3 years warranty.
It is great, if you are making bunch of workstations all hooked up to a network.
e.g) libraries

Anyone knows if the motherboard that comes with the Celeron supports QuadCore in the OptiPlex?
I bought an Inspiron 530 when it was 289$ (with Celeron) and even tho the model came with QuadCores, they actually had a different motherboard for the Celeron-equipped ones. So my little Inspiron can't be upgraded to QuadCore
