the 24" is a gem. i do wish I had bought the 27" instead but the price gap was too wide about a year ago. No brainer at that price especially if you can get a higher ebates or student discount tossed on.

Oh man, I think I might have to bite on this. I have been looking at the ultra wide Alienwares but I find that this might be better ultimately.

I have the 27 inch, you should be aware of a few issue with this monitor before buying. For one, the colours out of the box aren't so great. Funny thing is though, if you calibrate this monitor with a colorimeter, it is actually one of the best TN panels for colour. There is also some problem with colour banding that people have reported. I've tested mine and it has the problem, but I don't notice it with normal use. One more problem I've had is a strange line that appears on the right side of the screen a few times a week. You have to turn the monitor on and off to fix it, which isn't that bad because it turns on and off instantly.

Best bang for your buck 144hz g-sync monitor I think, but it doesn't come without some corner cutting.

I bought the 24 inch version 2 months ago and I noticed some serious colour banding issue.
Found out it is pretty common on these 2 monitors and there is no way to get around, so I end up returning my monitor.

Got a chance to get the 27' for $400 but after doing some research my 1070 seems won't pull games like R6, PUBG to 144hz at 2k, one of my friend even set it to 1080p all the time. What do you guys think?
I never downvote.

1070 could run PUBG at 144 if it wasn't so poorly made. It should be able to do Rainbow 6 at 144hz no problem.

Definitely worth it going for the 27"

I tried using a 24" 1440p for a few weeks and just never got used to it.

Check this video out. It averages about 120 fps. Close enough? And that's at ultra. Turn the settings down and it should do 144hz.

I got the 24 inch a few months ago, I really like it! Dont bother trying to replicate settings you see posted online, I just left applications setting colors and such in my settings. Some people complain of color banding, but I only noticed it in games like Mass Effect 3 or older areas in WOW which is really the game and not the monitor.
