For a second there I thought WTF! because I just bought the Vostro 3460 on Black Friday for $449 from dell and now it's $399?! Lame. But I see now it's an i3 and the one from Friday was i5.
Still a pretty good deal though. $419 w/ backlit keyboard.
Also glad to see the surge protectors back on sale for $10! Was waiting for this. Last sale was $19.99. Such a rip off. $10 each? Gotta grab 2!

Welcome to the club, I grabbed one of the $449 i5's as well for when the misses goes back to school in Jan. Kind of wish I had waited for the Monday sale to save a few more dollars, but too late now. Besides, the i5 is probably a better investment in the long run.
Anyone looking for a basic lappy for web surfing, emails & general productivity should jump all over this. Won't find one with a backlit keyboard for cheaper than $420.
Edit - Also, like everyone else, in for another cheap surge protector, lol.Last edited by Pauly Boy; Nov 26th, 2012 at 03:57 PM.

If anyone hasn't gotten an order number for a order they placed, I had to call in and change my payment method. They claimed a problem with processing the payments through Paypal. Not sure if it was just me or if anyone else may have the problem, so I decided to post about it.

Dell/PayPal still haven't fixed it? Such crap.
I ordered a laptop on Friday using PayPal so I could get the 5% cash back and then an hour later received an email from Dell saying the payment method was declined. I ended up having to pay by CC over the phone and miss out on the 5%.
When I check my PayPal it still shows the original transaction as "pending" though so I dunno wth that's about.Last edited by BobSagget; Nov 26th, 2012 at 04:32 PM.

Dell is playing some games with PayPal payments. I kept getting "Your transaction was not processed by PayPal. Please click "Retry" to reprocess your transaction or click, "Select Alternative Payment Method"
Started the chat. He told me to put his ID in "Were you assisted by a Product Advisor in Chat or Phone?". Then I was able to go to PayPal, but only method it offered was credit card or bank transfer when I had enough balance in the account.
So I went back and retried and this time I got the same failure as above.
Obviously, Dell does not want us to get those 5%. Wasted 20min on this nonsense. DELL, never again.

Ha, ya they are really handy. I have 2 in one room (opposite sides of the room). One in the living room for the tv/media player/blu ray player/floor lamp. One on the second floor to for my router, cable modem, voip, external HDDs(connected to router). And this next one will probably go in another room.
The thing I love about these belkin surge protectors is the length of cable you get. It's like 8ft long.

Thinking of getting the Vostro 2420 for girlfriend as a simple laptop to replace her ancient one. Is the Vostro 3460 worth the extra 80$ for casual use?
