For the money, I think the V131 is hot stuff! $539 is the lowest price ever for that configuration, and I'm unaware of a 13" laptop with comparable specs priced this well anywhere else. It weighs a travel friendly ~4lbs, has good battery life, a backlit keyboard, USB 3.0 ports, HDMI out, a fast processor, 500GB 7200RPM HD, and solid build quality.

can the V131 play games? Nothing like Crysis but just relatively modern games...

also, do these have HDMI out? I don't see it listed

I was about to buy XPS 17 laptop (over 899) and use $100 off coupon posted in RFD, it accepted the coupon but says the coupon doesn't meet the requirements. bla..bla.. Any one know why?

It's a US keyboard. By the way for those who bought it not so long ago can do a price ajustment like I did.

The laptop itself is nice and well built. It also have some nice extras that other consummer latops dont have for the same price : backlit keyboard , WIDI , and one power usb (charge electronics even if the laptop is turn off).

Perfect for surfing the net, office, hd video but not for gaming (light gaming).

It comes with one year warranty. I took the 3 year plan and my grand total came to 704$ all in.
heyhey wrote: I think I will bite. Last question, how long are Dell shipping times? I'm flying to America on December 16th... will I get the V131 before then?
It took exactly 1 week for my system to arrive even if i had a much longer estimated ship date

So tempting. I'm not sure if I should buy this now or wait until Boxing day.

Ordered mine today, ETA is 12/12. I ordered a monitor last week and it came alot quick than expected, so unless there is a part delay I'm hoping it comes by then if not sooner.

Going to pass, already got the inspiron 15r with better specs for 100$ cheaper, i find that to be better deal than this. If I am going to pay premium for sleek design and thinness, I will wait for ultrabooks to get cheaper.

IMO the $100 is well worth the slimmer design for people looking for portability. This is a much sleeker design. The 15r is much chunkier compared to it.

With Ultrabooks starting at $899, you'll be waiting a while.

I think he meant how long is the price good for a refund if it goes lower, not about the warranty.

Anyways, the warranty would be good on something small like this. I had their 13" XPS and it died like 3 times in 3 years. I think its because there's no room for cooling. But mine had a dedicated video card so thats probably why. Thank goodness I bought some 3 year warranty from them though. They fixed it for me in like 1-2 business days every single time
