cold. I'd rather go for HP. HP has a similar model for 700+.

Dell Studio 15 Windows 7, $869 ($200 off)
http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/...op-studio-1555
I believe this is one of the lowest prices in a while for a Dell Studio laptop with HDMI out.

Dell is Hell. You can never expect any good deal from them, atleast on laptops. No wonder they are losing their market share to HP.

well, this one is 799. I remember I saw one at 749 yesterday. Maybe I was looking at another one.

Anyway, I might pick up one in US. It is much cheaper there.
See this one.

I wouldnt call it a deal but hey, 869$ for C2D laptop with dedicated graphics is really not bad:
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English
Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T6600 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache)
15.6” High Definition (720p) LED Display with TrueLife™ and Camera
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz
Speed: 500GB SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) with Free Fall Sensor
256MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
8X Slot Load CD/DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-R Drive)
56 Whr Lithium Ion Battery (6 cell)
Dell 1510 Wireless-N Card
Supermike: Give us a link to something better in 700-800$ range ...

I don't know how you feel about Gateway, but you might want to look at this one for $679.

Last week they had a similarly configured and priced Gateway with an ATI card instead of the Nvidia. I have no idea which is better.

My friends have had nothing but horrible experiences with HP. Their build quality has gone down the crapper =/ I'd stick with Dell.
