Yeah, when it's at its shortest - thats what I need, simply because I have a rooftop ish on my desk, so I am limited to only 42cm

The 2007WFP is still a better LCD, because as CSR mentioned, the 2009W is indeed a TN panel. Which means it is pretty lousy to anybody who cares about image quality.

I wouldn't shell out $220 for a 20-incher considering how you can get 22-inch LCDs these days for just $30-50 on top.

It has a 170-degree horizontal viewing angle and 5ms response time. It's most definitely a TN panel.

It's still say it's a very good deal though, since it comes with a lot of extra features like USB/Firewire ports and height adjustable stands.

A RFD poster + some reviews on Google has confirmed that indeed there is TN Panel OR S-IPS - it all depends on what you get (which you have no control over) Nevertheless, I went ahead and ordered one, if I get the TN Panel, no biggie, don't do any heavy gfx designing anyways

That's way too big of a risk... either S-IPS or TN? That's ridiculous. Any more info on this?

TFT vs. TN (Twisted Neumatic - I think) are different.

The 2007FP had the same panel lottery (except SPVA vs. IPS). Dell is infamous for doing in this in a lot of their lcds.

well seeing that if its your dad, he might not need a monitor for graphics work. His eyes might even be worse than normal(i don't know) but 22" is easier to read.

It's a good deal but it could never be compared to the 2007WFP.
