Dell US deal(I hate the difference) $224 US+free ship for Poweredge SC420
Technically this system accepts PCIx8 video card with SATA and everything.
Look at the damn price:$224 (free shipping on top of it). We are being 'ripped off' here.

Hi,
Same here. Bought the 400SC server, returned the 40gb HD and 128mb memory a couple of months ago. Declared the system at customs and now waiting for a refund on tax paid for the HD & memory from Customs Canada.

How did you return the HDD and RAM?
The deal only includes a Celeron.
I'd rather pay the extra $100 and get a P4... No OS either...
This is funny: Note: For server use only; CANNOT BE USED AS A DESKTOP.
Dell does not support the use of a graphics card on the SC420. Probably to trick unsuspected computer n00bs looking for a good deal.
Can one order Dell system to be delivered to some place near the border like a store or something and then pick it up on a weekend or something?

Damn, at a price that low, I really really really want one. Shipping is the only problem. I wonder how much USPS charges for shipping the system from a American friend to Vancouver?
Or may be I should just get a 400SC instead...
BTW, with a minor mod, that PCIx8 slot actually accepts any x16 card.

There are no x8 PCI-e video cards. To fit a PCI-e video card into the SC420, you have to manually cut two plastic dividers.
