Does anyone know what happens to the warranty if/when I take this across the border?
Is it valid anymore, or is it voided?
IF it's still valid: could I get it serviced in canada, or does it have to go back through the states?

Dell will void the warranty because you took it across the border? I doubt it. You may have to use a U.S. address for warranty service, but I'd be astonished if the simple act of bringing it to Canada would void the warranty. People travel with their laptops all the time. How would Dell even know?

The link doesn't work. It keeps on redirecting me to the dell.ca website.

Can someone post the non-RFD referral link.

Not voided, warranty would remain intact just not valid outside the US. So Dell Canada won't service it and you need to send to Dell US and need a US return address for them to return the laptop to.

That's a long winded way of saying it's void in Canada

Dell Warranty
WARRANTY SUPPORT ONLY APPLIES WHEN THE COVERED PRODUCT IS LOCATED WITHIN THE COUNTRY IN WHICH DELL ORIGINALLY SOLD THE SYSTEM, AS REFLECTED IN DELL'S RECORDS. IF YOU NEED SUPPORT FOR THE PRODUCT OUTSIDE OF THE COUNTRY OF ORIGIN (FOR EXAMPLE, WHILE TRAVELING, OR IF THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN RELOCATED TO A NEW COUNTRY), THEN DELL MAY OFFER YOU OTHER SUPPORT OPTIONS FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE.
Also if in doubt call Dell and ask....1 800 624 9896 (US hardware warranty support)

What does "Members $69 OFF" mean? Which member, a Dell Advantage Rewards member? Is that a coupon, or an exclusive offer that we're supposed to click through?

Ok it was happening to me as well kept on getting redirect to Canada Dell.

You need to go to bottom of Dell Canada page and select USA as country. Then try the link in post again and it should resolve to Dell USA deal link but Dell upped the price to $788 now from $773 from this morning.

Oh and Dell Canada have the exact same laptop for $1400 -100 coupon "$100OFF$1300PC" so about $300 more + taxes on that to have it delivered to your door with no warranty work around.

Members deal is actually just the 3% cashback, no coupon. its Dell advantage rewards, if anyone else was interested.

He was not asking if its void in Canada or not, he was asking if moving it to Canada would void the warranty (answer is no) and if it can still be serviced in Canada (answer is no, it needs to be sent back). Just saying warranty is void is simply not correct.

Thanks. It proves the warranty is void in Canada

And you still get 3% reward card back from Dell.
and 2% cashback from ebates.
There was also the MMP discount (7%, not sure if it's a one code per enrollment though).
http://www.dell.com/learn/ca/en/cadhs1/ ... pp-ca?l=en
Additionally Dell reps are known to be flexible about additional discount they might offer to "seal deals", if you are set to purchase wouldn't hurt calling in and see if they can offer further discount (just have a comparable "cheaper" configuration from elsewhere handy and use that for leverage).

Solid purchase as long as you are ok with MaxQ GPU.

The 1050Ti on the 720s is also a MaxQ version, so 1060 MaxQ would still out perform it.
Google is telling me even the MaxQ version is better, but I want to confirm.
No not better (just pricier), at least not according to any benchmarks I have seen.
The 1060 MaxQ is about 10% slower than the regular 1060 (which is not that big of a deal most of the time, esp if you can "slightly" overclock it).
The significant performance hit is for the 1070 (reg vs MaxQ) and 1080 (reg vs MaxQ), where its argued that 1080 MaxQ is not just an underclocked 1080 but rather an overclocked 1070 (so you are paying more but getting less).
