This is already 900$ in store at Costco with a free Costco two-year warranty. I am still deciding between this and the Sony 60" XBR690E. I wish you could still get the 850D.

This is not a TV for those hoping to use this with a HD antenna. It has no TV tuner and therefore must be used with a cable, satellite, IPTV tuner in order to watch TV.

It's 999 - 25$ at Costco.ca is it 900 for the 55 Vizio M in store?

Sony KD55X720E

How does this compare to the similarly priced Sony. I like the asthetics, viewing angles, PQ, and the YouTube and Netflix apps. And I especially love that the stand is in the center.

Unfortunately without buying the Vizio, there's no way to tell if the apps, sound, or PQ would be noticeably better....

It's just such a pain to exchange TV's.

Samsung 55 mu 6300 is 729.00 at bestbuy after price matching Canada's computers at 749.00. 55 m-series at Costco or the Samsung 6300? Still deciding.

I was tempted, but the review on rting says that Vizio M is better in dark rooms and has limited viewing angle, so won’t work well in my living room.

Got this from Costco a couple weeks ago.

Probably the best TV you can get when you factor in price. Looks gorgeous, viewing angles are good too. Smartcast is very handy, I haven't used the provided remote once. Once I setup my harmony hub I won't even need to use my phone.

Do you know the width of the stand? Trying to see if this will fit on my table.

Thanks!

I could be mistaken, but I thought the M55 was an IPS panel while other sizes were VA? If it is indeed IPS it will have BETTER viewing angles but give up some contrast when compared to a VA panel

Why is there not more discussion about a brand name tv 55inch going for 729.00 but a non brand for 599.00 had 200 page thread?

works best in a dark room. It produces deep and uniform blacks […] it isn't the best at handling reflections, and its viewing angle is quite narrow, making it less suitable for bright, wide living rooms.

Guessing ebates would also net you a percent or two back as well? (If through dell.ca)

Ahh sorry it was the 2016 P55 and M60 that were IPS panel based, I stand corrected

Wonder why there is no thread on that. It is a tough choice but I am still going towards the Vizio. The Costco warranty and the fact the Samsung is so blah in the reviews (i.e. rtings.com) makes the Vizio much more attractive to me. Not to mention the 90 days Costco price protection.

It all depends what you care for in a TV.

- I care not about the Smart features since I either use a cable box or my HTPC Kodi box.

- Frankly I am not sure if viewing angles are much a factor in a 55" although yes the Sony is much better in that department. If I were buying a TV to watch the Sunday big game with my compadres, I would most likely spring for something bigger like the Sony 690E or something at the 65" level.

- PQ is the most determining factor in my opinion because you would normally buy this for at least 4 or 5 years and the Sony sucks mostly because of its contrast level:

FYI the costco price went back up. Now 949$. Still took it, I figure it has to drop in the next 3 months.
