[Dell] WARM? Dell XPS 13 9360, i7-8550U, 16GB, 512GB SSD, QHD+ Touch Display, $1666+tax-$166 Ebates CB

I think this is pretty good deal.
XPS 13 9360 (last gen)
i7-8550U, 16GB LPDDR3 1866MHz, 512GB PCIe SSD, Intel® UHD Graphics 620, 13.3” QHD+ (3200 x 1800) InfinityEdge touch display,
With 10% Unidays coupon applied, it comes to:
$1666+tax-$166 Ebates CB
So, $1716 all in

For comparison, this year's model XPS 13 9370,
http://www.dell.com/en-ca/shop/dell-lap ... 0_bt_h604e
i7-8550U, 8GB LPDDR3, 256GB PCIe SSD, 13.3” FHD InfinityEdge NON-touch display,
1669 all in, which is just $50 cheaper than the 9360 above.

Paying $50 more for double the memory, double the storage and QHD+ touch screen, I think it's a pretty good deal. What do you guys think?

Pretty decent deal. I would get it just for the ram and the nice screen. Plus the old generation XPS13 at least you get USB type A ports... not full USB type C ports.
such machine is normally worth 2k on the Dell site even on sale.

I have this exact model, got it from Dell a few months ago for $1800 before ebates, it's fantastic. Battery life for my main use (screen on, doing work emails using outlook web) is better than I expected given the screen - about 11 hours at 60% screen brightness.

I've had 2 XPS 13 (9343, and 9360 with i7-7500U). If I go back to Windows I would consider an XPS again, but it surprised me that they still hadn't fixed the stiff hinge nor did they put a little indent to make it easier to pry the screen up. A silly ongoing oversight for a premium machine.

In all likelihood I would stay with the 1080p screen. The battery life with that was just stunning.

Also beware of shipping from Dell, these come from the US (or at least mine did) and it took almost 3 weeks to process my order and get it to Halifax

Seems to beat the Levono prices for the carbon C6 given the carbon has faster CPU and ram. Resolution on the dell is higher oddly enough.

I have been fairly happy in past with dell their idiot prof warranty has come in handy.

yes, the best price I can find so far for X1 Carbon 6Gen with similar spec is $1,981.75+tax-$198Ebates CB = $2042 all in. $300 difference but you get a ThinkPad.

Despite the fact that it says "new", it is actually the older version. The newest version has a 52WHr battery. This one has a 60Whr battery, so older version. Other differences: new = LPDDR3 2133MHz, old = LPDDR3 1866MHz and screen resolution.

Yea it's the 9360 model which came out late 2017. Good thing it has the 8th gen intel chips though.

You've got to have an university email. I got mine through my sister who's still in university.
