This external USB HD is a 2.5" HDD, not the a same as the 500GB 3.5" HDD.
The external 2.5" HDD don't require external power source.

The HD is just an ok deal, similar drives goes for 70 to 90 bucks...

If you guys don't need a HD right away, Costco (assuming you have or know someone with a membership), will have $20 off their WD 160GB HD from July 15-22. I believe that'll put the Costco unit at around $100+TAX.
