Denon receiver dead?

The TV was on this morning and the receiver began to flicker. It turned off then back on then next thing I know the TV screen is blank. The front display on the Denon doesn't look any different but there is no picture to the TV. All the connections in the back are in place.

What could be the problem?

Fixable?

If not what would be a good replacement?

Denon AVR 790

We have had it for a few years and it serves us well. It's in our main living room and we don't need anything that's going to blow the roof off sound wise.

I suppose you have tested the TV separately to make sure its the Receiver not the TV? Use another HDMI cable. They can be flaky. Happened to me with my Onyko a few months ago and it was the Receiver.
The Denon 790 is a very old model. A good receiver but has no graphical user interface. If second hand its probably seen much use. I think its a 2009 model.

I plugged the HDMI output cable back in and I have a picture, but no sound.

In the off chance I need to replace this unit is there something decent I can buy under $400

Edit.

Blew air into the headphone input. Solved the problem.

Better than spending $. :)
