Anyone see any good deals on desktops?
Looking for something low- to mid-range.
Haven't seen anything that catches my eye.

If you don't mind going open box - DFSDirect has some great deals from time to time. Last week they had a coupon for 20% off open box and I got a 23" 1080p AIO Core i5, 6GB RAM, 1TB HDD, TV tuner (with remote) system for about $475 before cashback. I'm pretty sure it's touchscreen on top of all that (cause Dell listed as a 2320T vs 2320), but won't know for sure until it shows up...
I haven't seen anything that comes close during the BD "deals" so far. Anyway, I got the last one off the site, and the coupon code since expired anyway. But I bet they'll have another round of coupon codes for boxing week. Worth a look...

I've been looking for a desktop too, but more in the $1000 range. Doesn't seem like there's very much. I'm leaning towards the Dell XPS 8500, $999 for an i7-3770, 16GB RAM with 23" monitor. Considering the monitor is relatively new and sells for $200, I think it's a 'decent' deal.
What do you guys think?

The Dell Boxing Day flyer has the Inspiron 660 Mini Tower Desktop for $479.99 ($100.00 off the original $579.99). It's got an i5-3330 chip.
I've been thinking about it, but been wondering if I should look for one with discrete graphics rather than its integrated graphics.

Looks like another poster had some good ideas.
Credit to bennyboy84 in the other desktop thread (http://forums.redflagdeals.com/best-...-deal-1277123/):
I'm shoping for a good desktop in the same price range and quite frankly, I'm a bit disapointed by the options so far My budget is also 600-700$.
Here are the ones I'm potentially interested in so far :
http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=77...Entra%20series (Thanks to a fellow RFDer for telling me about this deal) - 569 +tx + shipping = approx 650$
Dell will have an Inspiron 660 at 479 (check their Boxing day flyer, 100$ off regular price) that has decent specs but Intel Integrated Graphics (which sucks if you plan to play any somewhat demanding PC games) + 4%cashback via RFD
Dell currently has (until tomorrow morning) an XPS 8500 @ 649$ that also has good specs and NVIDIA entry level video card +4% cashback via RFD
Best Buy will have a few interesting ACERs, HPs and ASUS desktops in the 500$ range (check their flyer page 5) and one tempting HP FX-8350 at 700$.
I really can't seem to find any mind-blowing deal though... But a lot of OK deals.

Thanks otani!
I just ended up buying their XPS 8500 @699$ (wouldn't let me stack any coupons sadly...
). Specs are pretty good for that price point plus should get 4% Cashback :
http://configure.dell.com/dellstore/...=dhs&cs=cadhs1 EARN CASH BACK
Would have preferred better video card (GDDR5) instead of BD drive but at that price I really can't complain, I'll update the video card once my warranty expires. Here are the basic specs :
i5-3350P (@3.10Ghz), 16 GB RAM (@1600Mhz), 1GB NVIDIA GT620 (better than Intel Integrated I guess!), 1TB SATA III drive, BD drive.
Originally reatils for 999$ (Site says 949$ but yesterday I am 100% sure this build was 999$).
Again, not a mind blowing deal, just an warmish one.
EDIT : CRAP! It's actually 649$ because they are showing a 50$ rebate for all Windows 8 PCs that, for some reason, did not apply itself when I checked out ... How do I get my 50$ back?!Last edited by bennyboy84; Dec 24th, 2012 at 09:09 AM.

you should call or email dell and threaten to cancel the order and re-order if you have enough room to order again before the reverse the first charge. I've had coupons added to an order even after it shipped, they still honoured it.

This is what I just did... The guy from Online sales seemed to have no problem canceling the order even if it already showed "in production" (2 minutes after ordering...) so he did it and I went ahead and re-purchased it. 747 in including taxes instead of 804 for first order.
Both systems still show as In Production though now, I hope there is some sort of delay before it shows up... I don't want to be stuck with 2 XPSs!
EDIT : My 699$(804 tx inc) order is marked as cancelled now, took an hour or so before it changed from In Production to Cancelled and no confirmation email, had to log on dell.ca to see it. Phew!Last edited by bennyboy84; Dec 24th, 2012 at 11:33 AM.
