I didn't start infusing my exotics until I got to a higher level. Seems like a waste of resources. I'm constantly farming for glimmer in this game... which wasn't an issue until I got to higher level and kept wanting to put mods in my gear for the extra 5 light. I'd spend a bunch on buying random mods, then turning them into legendary mods....

One thing you don't want to do is the after game planet quests that drop exotics. Also try and save faction packages for when you get to 260 (because they can drop 265 gear). Ride blues to 260, then cash in all your faction tokens to bump to 265.. then do the exotic quests, and the weekly milestones... then the grind is really on... lol. you have to wait until next tuesday to do it again.... or try to grind heroic public events and crucible for random exotic drops that usually don't drop high enough to help :(

It seems pretty easy to level up, Ive put in an hour each night just running around doing random quests, public events, patrols, challenges etc... and I went from 200 to 235 in probably 2.5 hours in game time.

I think Im enjoying the endgame grind even more then I enjoyed the story mode, its really quite fun and addicting and unlike the first game there is tons of different activities to do, your always getting reward with cool stuff, the goals and how you achieve them are much more cleanly laid out and it always seems like your making progress. It's just a totally different and incredibly superior experience then what the end game was like at the end of the original Destiny.

Now a question for y'all, is it more advisable to upgrade your low power level exotics or just use dismantle them and use the highest power level item you have in that moment?

Ive been upgrading them, but I did notice you can re-buy any exotic you have dismantled for some exotic shard from the vault.
there's a wall at 260 which, after you hit, you'll be stuck having to wait for "powerful gear" because 99% of the gear drops are lower level than you by 5 to 10 levels. 260->280->290->300->305 are the "walls" you MIGHT wanna push exotics into mere legendary gear.

dumb question #1:
I am finally at 265. Should i empty my wallet and trade all my hard-earned tokens for engrams to different vendors at once (ie. banshee, devrim key, sloane, etc)? They won't scale anymore even if you are 270 or higher, right?

dumb question #2:
What is Strike and Nightfall strike? and Raid?

1) The vendor coins will max you at 265 unless they have a +5 mod already on it. At 265, you want to start turning in any powerful rewards (weekly milestones and clan rewards) and end game rewards (if you saved them). This would be a good point to start the exotic weapon quests (blue quests on each planet). The earth exotic quest gives you the mida, which is useful.
IMO, use coins if a piece is below 265, but otherwise, you can use these coins if/when you decide to level another character.
If you wanted to get the pieces Xur has, you can use the coins to get gear to dismantle... Xur uses shards from dismantling gear as a currency.

2) A strike is basically like a story mission, but longer and a big boss at the end. A normal strike will matchmake you with 2 other people.
A nightfall strike is a much harder version of a strike and is timed. For nightfall, each week has different modifiers on it. You normally have to find 2 other people to run this with as there is no automatic matchmaking.... that is until the guided games feature came out. For the guided games, you should of received a certain amount of tickets. The wait time was long last time I checked though. The bungie app has an Looking for group (LFG) feature as an alternative, and there are also sites dedicated to this as well. Google destiny 2 LFG.
The raid is a, well raid. There are multiple encounters that have different set of mechanics that a team of 6 players must perform to defeat the encounter. Easiest way to explain it is by watching youtube videos.

Thanks for the info guys!!

Googled a bit. I better finish my 2 Strike milestone thing, which Zavala will reward that auto rifle Origin Story, or scout rifle Nameless Midnight. They seem pretty good!

And I don't know... I hate my armor! My character (a titan) just looks hideous lol

By the way, everyone is welcome to add me on PSN: hojai0207

SAVE all of your legendary drops that came with a purple mod built in.

Later when you hit the wall you can infuse the low level legendary with purple mod with a high level gear to bring it up to the same level plus you get additional 5 levels from the purple mod.

Wish I knew this sooner.

the token's are useless around level 265 because there's a soft cap of 265 on drops (After you get past 275 light, you'll notice they start to scale about 10 light levels below whatever your light level would be not including mods... so they can help you at least keep that 1 or 2 pieces of gear you can't seem to get a drop on from remaining too low).

At your level I think the regular strike's aren't very useful. Strike is a 3 person mission to go through a level and take out a big baddie at the end. Nightfall is a strike mission with a timer and increased difficulty.

It depends. At one point I thought I was flush in glimmer.. and then realized you end up spending all your glimmer buying mod components, to get enough pieces to make legendary components, to break them down, to have peieces to roll weapon mods to try and get a kinetic mod.... lol... so be wary that glimmer becomes a little more important once you get to the level buy/create mods.

The game is pretty good and easy to level up to around 265 to 270. After that there's only weekly events to level up (or do infinite heroic public events to try and get exotic engrams... which gets tedious after a while).

Origin Story and Nameless Midnight are both fantastic weapons. Between them, I feel they are the best kinetic weapons in the game. Whichever one you got, it's a keeper.

Kinda late as you only have today to grind out faction tokens, but join New Monarchy and get the Titan gear. It looks really good.

Speaking of Factions... I'm a little annoyed that Bungie capped rewards at 30 drops per faction. That means you have 30 chances to get all 5 armor pieces. Which doing the math, you got a 15% of not completing your armor set. It sucks that both my Titan and Warlock are missing the Mark/Bond. You could always complete it "next time", but I have a faction on each character and want to rotate it the next time this event rolls around. They need to either guarantee a full set in those 30 packages or don't cap it.

It's that same feeling after leaving a casino after a bad streak... glimmerless and you walk around the tower wondering what just happened.

FWC was bugged. You could have kept handing in tokens well after the 30 cap. I myself got to 60... didn't get the Warlock Bond. FML.

FYI: If you have any faction tokens you have not handed in, be sure to do so before this week's reset. The reset will wipe out any remaining tokens you have and reset all Factions back to level 0.

RNGeesus has not been very kind to me. 3 characters and all 3 needed 2 items to reach 305 Power Level going into this week. After NFs and Raids, 1 character needs 1 item and the other 2 still need 2 items. I literally got zero raid gear this week.

Do you guys always use your highest level weapons?
In my case, I love my Origin Story (265) and Nameless Midnight (272), but my highest rated weapon is Mida Multi-Tool (287).
Same goes to Energy weapon, love Uriel's Gift (270) but my Mida Mini-Tool is higher at 277.

One thing Destiny 2 does better is the light level of your dropped item's bases it on your characters level as if you had equipped your best gear. D1 was on your current level based on what you had equipped. In D2 it doesn't really matter if you change your gear and drop down a few light levels, the drops will still be the same.

That's good to know thanks!
