For quests, I would recommend holding off on the the Drang/Sturm quest until your BPL (Base Power Level without mods) is 290. The reason being is and the MIDA (Multi and Mini tool) quest both give you 2 weapons which are 15 PL (10 + 5 mod) above your BPL. That means with either of those 2 quests, your kinetic and energy weapon slots hit the max of 305. This will be the single biggest jump during the grind from 290 to 305. I only recommend holding off on the Drang/Sturm quest over the MIDA quest because the MIDA is actually useful in PVP.
I don't play PvP. I've disliked modes like that since Diablo II was a thing, so grinding on PvE is it. But the game is boring after you discover all the hidden areas and complete the quests. Really boring doing the patrols since there are only a few of them. Most of the time the game wants you to go outside the area you are currently in. And the game just plain cheats at times. Try to get some scout rifles to break down for the MIDA quest. In 4 hours, I got one. Prior to the quest, my backpack was littered with them as was the post office. This is the best they can do? Must be programming casino games on the side. I do wish they had set the Nightfalls with matchmaking the same as regular raids. Can't do most of them solo as I could with D1. The enemies, especially the Fallen can outrun your bullets or are faster than you can move your guns. I wasted a lot of ammo that way. I'll probably get the game on PC though once I get a better video card. Maybe after Black Friday if anything is on sale. Sucks we can't get a better version for the Xbox X but Bungie signed that deal with Sony, so that's that...

Surprised it wasn't posted here:

The State of Destiny 2 Blog.

It's rather long and does not quote well (without major editing and I'm too lazy to do that), but here's the link:

And another if you just want the text:

Lots of changes coming with Destiny. It definitely sounds like it'll fix some of the issues like more rewards and making various events more rewarding. Also more customization with weapons. But still lots of big issues are still there like PVP is still a mess, still no end game, still no reason to be max Power Level, still no word on vault size increasing, etc.

This game really died out fast huh? Still kind of interested in checking out the PC release but wouldn't spend more than $10-20 at this point

Destiny 2 didn't die, it was murdered! It's not worth it and you shouldn't support these greedy companies. Honestly Activision make EA and Battlefront 2 look like Saints compared to the crap they are trying to pull with this game. They keep releasing official apologies but then keep on pulling the same crap over and over. The last DLC is a joke. Tbey have a small live team updating the game while the rest of the developers are already working on Destiny 3. Hmmm maybe they should go back and actually fix Destiny 2 before working on the 3rd game or else there won't be a community left. Just a thought.

Ya I've kind of glossed over complaints and controversy over the updates and DLC but as someone with zero interest in DLC or long term appeal I'm still down to check it out for a few bucks because I've heard the visuals and optimization on PC are still quite nice. I'd only be looking to check out the main content for however long that lasts the first time

Yeah I loved the first Destiny, heck I even loved this one for a period of time but there was so many confusing decisions in this end game and it just wasn't near as rewarding.

Having said that it is incredibly pretty and the shooting mechanics are still best in class, definitely worth a play through at a cheaper price.

Yeah, defeating Crota in the first game effectively ends the game. In D2, there is no end game. The Red Legion is still all over the system. The Emperor's troops that were in the original game seem to have vanished completely. No in game explanation for that. The enemies still suffer from ADD. Just run past them as they hardly ever shoot at you! Most strikes I've played of late have become so short other than the Dendron simulation in the Forest. That one can be difficult. Did a public event last night that lasted all of a minute! Too quick! Weapons are all the same or reskins of old D1 weapons. Only fun one was The Colony and that wears thin after awhile. Give me some of the unique weapons from the first game or the Borderlands games. Things that dropped once in a blue moon rather than everyone getting them. Now it will take 8 months to fix the problems? Who will be playing this game then???

Destiny 2: Killed by the Architects
I still play on a weekly basis for milestones, but it is very revealing how incredibly shallow this game is.
No end-game mechanics to promote thoughtful play and grind, poor decisions by Bungie, XP/reward throttling that is not communicated clearly in-game or passed off as "working as intended", etc.

I never played D1 - but I can appreciate the salt towards D2 from the community as it is quite a fiasco.

I just started The Division and where it seems a lot of D2 players have flocked to.
