High drama in the hardware aisles! With two little kids running aorund, I won't be looking for anything sharp that plugs in, but that's a good tip for any of the workshop warrior wannabes out there![]()

Dewalt & Home Depot now sleeping together
Dewalt has entered into an agreement making Home Depot their exclusive reseller for Dewalt tools. As most of you know Black & Decker owns Dewalt as well as Weiser. From what I understand a lot of Dewalt resellers are pretty upset.
RONA has taken the bull by the horns and will be dumping Dewalt, all B & D tools and all Weiser as well. Keep your eyes open for some bargains on all 3 brands at your nearest RONA in the very near future. I'm not sure what the other Dewalt resellers will be doing but I'm sure they won't be taking this lightly either.
H'mm, just in time for Christmas.

What about the fact that Stanley is buying up Black & Decker? Are they going to be boycotted also? :p

Hmmm... I can see a couple of reasons for this. Could HD be trying to position themselves with several exclusive offerings and brands in anticipation of Lowes expanding further?

That's crazy! That's like Shoppers Drug Mart becoming the exclusive distributor for milk.
I only ever bought some of my tools (Ridgid, DeWalt or otherwise) from Home Depot. A lot of it was bought from local independent tool super-warehouses, or places like Billy Bee Tools. Even Canadian Tire.
This stuff rarely goes on sale, and you can bet that this deal will keep it that way.
