Anyone else hate watching all this stuff related to the royal family? Or is it just me, I don't know why but I can't stand it and it seems it consumes all the channels.

I love it. British ppl seem to come out in droves when theirs a celebration and get really into it. What the hell do we celebrate in canada besides hockey and new years. I bet most people don't even care about canada day and just look at it as another day off wooo.

Basically Canada has a large number of monarchists, so the TV stations and newspapers pander to these people. Besides, if they weren't airing useless monarchist drivel during the afternoons it would be infomercials for ultramatic adjustable beds, in-home lifts for staircases, and geritol.
The real question here is why use a television set when you are capable of using the internet?Last edited by nauru; Jun 3rd, 2012 at 11:44 AM.

An unelected old hag that defies the very meaning of democracy and hasn't earned anything in her whole life shouldn't be celebrated in a nation like Canada.
But Harper's hardon for the old ways will keep the monarch sentiments around, at least until Charles is up on the list._______________

Indeed, Stephen Harper is probably the most prominent monarchist in Canada at the moment.
