Noticed this little thing for a while, but STAPLES is now having no-minimum free delivery, I think someone may find it useful.
AverTV Volar Hybrid Q

I've been using this TV receiver for some time, and would no doubt give it higher marks than the ones from Hauppauge.
Using an HDTV signal amplifier (also for 10 bucks), I can manage to receive over 20 FREE over-the-air digital channels in Scarborough, ON.

Nice. Just as I've been able to set up my media player and HTPC to work with my HDTV, now I see this 180 degree turn.

Thanks OP._______________

Sorry for the not-so-up-to-date info...
I was able to add it in cart a while ago.
And I have to point out that, for Staples online orders, even if an item can be added to cart AND checked out AND submited the order, Staples could still say that it is out of stock after processing. But the good thing is, they won't charge your credit card for non-fulfilled orders. It happened to me a few times.

thanks. so i can unscrew one from my router i assume, or setup a tower in the backyard :-)
BTW, there is a question i always want to ask, does the TV found in most multi storey apartment receive OTA signal as well or they are only for cable ? As most of such setup in asian countries do receive OTA signal(so it is both a huge antenna as well as cable signal feed).

Any UHF antenna/amplifier/RG6 will work. Note that wifi routers are not the same frequency band.
You'd have to check with your building, but some older buildings did supply OTA over the coax, might still be intact (assuming rogers hasn't paid them all to remove it over the years)
