haha, good luck with that. I was just talking about this with my friend the other day. for those who have already established their work in the industry, they need to have some sort of incentive to guarantee quality work and dedication to the film. someone could come in pro bono, but then if they get the opportunity to work on another project that pays, they'll jump ship. Everyone has bills to pay.
OP, do you have any funding through grants or anything? or is this coming out of pocket?_______________

Obviously. Unless it is for a charity or something, why would anyone do for free what they could get paid to do? And if they can't get paid to do it, would you really trust them to produce something of quality? Same with contests & spec work. Why put in the work for something when there is no garuntee you'll get paid.

well, people do pro bono work if they're they're new to the industry or out of school. they need to build their network and portfolio, in which case they might join on. Or they have a vested interest in the film. Or the person asking is a good friend or really well established director (which kinda ties in to building their network).
