Just threw on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on my GSM Galaxy Nexus!
This thread details it all: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1737340 specifically this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=617
EDIT: Easy flashable ROM through CWM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1737849. Just flash it as you would any other ROM.
If anyone has any questions, I'll be happy to answer them.
Initial impressions of 4.1 -- it's amazingly fast (awesome new animations) and Google Now (and their new voice searching) works well.
As I just threw this on my phone a few minutes ago, I'll update this post as I tinker more around with it.

Nice. Does the Knowledge Cards feature work? Notifications i.e. expandable/collapsible, able to call back/hangup missed calls via notification? By the way, the first link you provided - the image on the first link is from Google itself I take it? I.e. android client whatever?
If I have an unlocked bootloader with yakju installed, can I flash it to JB and have no issues? Its the stock one right? Or should I just wait until mid July for actual official update/flash if need be?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated._______________

Jelly Bean did come with a new radio but I haven't noticed that much of a difference with it. As for battery, I did my overnight test and I lost 3% on WiFi over an 8 sleep which was what I was seeing in ICS too.
The update will work for your Galaxy Nexus but since you haven't even unlocked your phone yet, you gotta get yourself familiar with this stuff before doing anything. Start by reading this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1360413
Knowledge Cards work great with my limited testing and the improvements to notifications are as advertised. The first link is the OTA update for Jelly Bean given to the I/O participants which requires a certain build in order to allow the update (has to be from the stock Play Store GN). It doesn't matter anymore though as ROM devs have made the process simple:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1737849
Just flash that like you would any ROM. I'll update my first post accordingly. The above linked ROM isn't stock though has it has BusyBox, Root, and the rest of the basic modding tools installed. If you want true stock JB, then follow the original links in the OP.
This version of JB I don't think is considered final (if it were, why not release to the masses?), but is capable enough to release to the I/O attendees. I don't see why you would want to wait for the official update though if you were installing ROMs on your phone anyways -- consider this just another ROM.

I have an important question for anyone who's tried jellybean.
I saw that notifications in the tray are expandable and you can do things like comment/like right from the tray. No need to open the app.
My question is, can you do quick replies the same way with texts and IM's?
If so. My screen will need some cleaning. From the nut bustin' that's about to follow.

Where did you see that you can comment right from the tray? I watched the entire I/O and they didn't demonstrate any sort of quick reply or anything and it's definitely not a feature in JB.
The notification expansion only allows certain additional actions you can perform, such as being able to "Share" a screenshot from the notification menu after you've taken it for example. In my experiences, the notification expansions aren't that much more useful. It's basically just much better looking and shows a little bit more information than before, which is a good thing because there's a lot of space in the notification drop down anyways. There are some actions that save some time, but nothing too groundbreaking.
Truthfully, I too was expecting being able to quick reply. Imagine being able to respond to SMS and Gtalks right from the drop down menu. I'd be nut bustin' too but sadly this isn't the case.

At 19:20 he mentions that you can comment on a friend's check-in on Foursquare. I can only assume this could be applied to other apps if the developers choose?

Hmm good point.
Since I don't have Foursquare though, I can't really comment on what that "Comment" button does. Even though the guy said "without having to open the app", I can only imagine that the comment button does launch the app and instantly opens a comment box or whatever it is. If they could really reply within the notification menu, I'm sure they definitely would have demonstrated that as it's a good selling point.
Further, they haven't implemented this in any way with SMS, Gtalk, or Gmail so I can only assume you can't do it with Foursquare. Cause really, how could a 3rd party dev do it and not Google's native apps?

did you flash without a wipe? a lot fo people saying they've done it without wiping data/cache and it works.
I dont want to install all my apps again through wifi and lose my text messages and app settings.
yes i know there are apps to back those up but i rather not.
I wonder if the Wugfresh app and data setting back up works. save app + settings on comp, then wipe data /cache and all that otehr stuff and then push back apps + settings. (if anyone has tried, let us know in this thread!)

i'll most likely be getting android if the next iPhone 5 sucks..
looks like the fixed the main issue i had with android, and that was how smooth the OS was. no more lag/skipped frames when doing simple tasks like scrolling down a webpage.

Yeah, it's a lot smoother without even using a custom kernel
