Funny you mention it, I was PM'ed that very same question.
Find my reply below ..
The information above was current the last time I checked, you will need to verify it on your ownI would actually go with Distributel for many reasons, but here is few:
- Distributel is working over Rogers cables, Acanac is working over Distributel's cable working over Rogers cables (with Acanac you are dealing with 2 middle men needlessly, all Acanac service requests will have to go through Distributel first which forward them to Rogers).
- The last time I checked you needed to pay Acanac full year of service in advance (and rates wasn't that much lower than Distributel if at all), there is no contract so you can get the money back once you decide to cancel but there is so many horror stories about billing issues with Acanac (just look google around). With Distributel you pay monthly and can cancel whenever you like.
- Acanac's billing dept is located in Iran, while I do understand outsourcing tech support to cut down costs, I find it unacceptable to outsource billing.
Best of luck,

The slavery of consumerism: makes you think you have an extra need & sells you something to fulfill it. The truth: you don't have that need.

Depends on the location. SINGH20 is in Brampton, which has no congestion issues on Teksavvy cable. Areas with congestion have a stop-sell, so people can't sign up.
Using Teksavvy in Etobicoke without any issues:

Teksavvy Extreme and Express kits are once again available through Canada Computers (while supplies last):

thinking of switching to distributel, because the teksavvy price hike sucks. Anyone have distributel in scarborough and can comment on the service there?

Got my modem in the mail today. Sadly, still another 8 days until 'installation'. Hooked everything up and it's ready to go, just needs to be provisioned now to work on Rogers!!

I'm confused, I called distributel and was told that you have to purchase the RCA Thomson DCM475 Modem for 24/ cable package. But that modem is a docsis 2 with max dl of 15mbs. Do they provide a different modem or what?

Can I purchase my own modem?
Sorry if this question has already been asked, but what if I purchase the same model for the DOCSIS 3.0 modem distributel sells from outside. Do they allow to buy the same modem from third party seller?
