I also have an issue with streaming. I’ve called Distributel about this and I’m trying to convince them that it’s not computer-related, and the issue is something they need to fix. I understand that from their point of view, they have a lot of customers call in, report issues, and point Distributel in the wrong direction. But streaming is nothing new to me. I watch a lot of StarCraft tournaments (bi-weekly), player streams (daily), and VODs. Nothing in my local environment has changed; just the internet has. I had no issues streaming on my previous Bell 6 Mbps DSL connection. I can't even load up a movie trailer on YouTube at 1080p without it buffering or failing to download altogether (the download progress bar just stops and doesn't continue).
The funny thing is streaming works fine for about 10 minutes when I do a hard reset of the modem, using the pinhole at the back. The problem resurfaces in about 10 minutes, though. The problem is pretty bad, considering it even lags in 480p. Speed isn’t an issue. I’m getting the advertised speeds, if not more at certain times. My gaming and browsing doesn’t appear to be affected by the issue. And of course, I’ve testing the streaming while directly hardwired to my modem, a Thomson DCM475.
Other than this, I’ve had no issues with Distributel. I’m getting the speeds and my hold time with customer service have been more than reasonable. There was probably a hold time of a minute or two yesterday and when I got disconnected, they called me back. They also sent me a follow-up e-mail with instructions on how to test the line, and they’ve replied to my response on that e-mail.

Can a fellow member who has Distributel help me out? I need help isolating an issue I'm having with streaming, but it appears to just be streams from Twitch.tv.
I need a member to open a stream link and see if they have the same symptoms as me. It should take 2-3 minutes of your time. Here's what I need:
1. Open http://www.twitch.tv/directory/StarC...20of%20Liberty
2. Load the video with the most viewers (each thumbnail has "HQ <Viewer>)".
3. Once the stream loads, change the quality to the highest quality (e.g. 720p+ or 1080p).
4. Does it lag?
I can load YouTube and other stream sites fine, but I can't figure out for the life of me why Twitch.tv doesn't load properly on my end!

try a different site, you must be a member to view 720p+ or higher.

Even with the default/non-paid resolution (360p or 480p) it looks very crappy / "milky" - video frames not fluid and audio out of sync.
I would say the issue is at that site's end.
