The DJI Phantom 3 Professional is on sale at Newegg.ca until tomorrow (2016/04/30).

Awesome price, too bad I can't justify it right now; pro basically the price of the standard edition.

Great price for a great machine. I'd definitely pick one up if I didn't already get in on the Standard. There's some appeal on the range with Lightbridge for sure.

I wonder how I'd do with the Standard on Kijiji ?... must restrain ...

Lol I know what you mean. I bought the DJI Phantom 3 Standard last week and thought that was a good price. I just couldn't pass this one up though, I ended up picking this up today. Anyone interested in a two flight only DJI Phantom 3 Standard (please PM if you are), I haven't officially put it up for sale in the forums..... yet.

I've been watching prices of cheaper drones on amazon waiting for price drops. This 4K video is tempting. No concerns about the bad reviews from some newegg customers?

DJI support has certainly improved over a few years ago but it's still lame. However -- the units are the best for the money and are generally pretty reliable (on my third).

Wow, this is an amazing deal! Thanks for posting this - I'm very tempted. I've been thinking about getting a P3P and this seems like fate...

A couple questions - initially I was thinking of getting a "combo pack" from Amazon.ca which includes two extra batteries (for three total), a hardshell backpack, some props, misc accessories, etc. The set I was looking at is $1,600:
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01C31QN5E/ref ... A6PLWO3ZZO

However, if I get this deal from Newegg then I still need to get two extra batteries ($180 x 2 = $360), the cheapest backpack I can find on Amazon.ca is $85, and I assume I need a set of extra props which seems to be about $30. This brings the total to $1275 plus tax, which is admittedly better than the same basic package (plus some misc extras) from the Amazon bundle for $1,600 - a savings of $325.

Before I pull the trigger on anything, I was interested in getting some feedback from DJI Phantom owners on here - how much of the stuff in the accessories bundle is necessary? (Assuming I can get my own SD cards). Is the custom backpack/case necessary, or are you just as well off using a duffle bag as long as you're careful? I assume all of the other accessories (lens filters, etc.) are not necessary?

In otherwords, if I were too get the above deal from NewEgg, what other stuff would I need to get at a minimum to have a stable, useable kit?

With the way things are, it's almost impossible to find a place to fly this, especially in the city. There are so many limitations and more to come. Plus, people are so paranoid about these things, especially with it buzzing around their back yard. Excellent deal though!

^ Speaking of, anyone have experience flying around the parks/beach in the GTA? How has it gone? Ever gotten in trouble, or all clear?

How much could you flip this thing for? Great quad but firmware, poor servicing options apparently.

Not sure if this is all too late yet, but I did see that package on Amazon as well. Look at some of the reviews from that seller though, not sure they have been favorable. I hope this deal is not yet dead is a great price.

I've had people come up to me to ask questions and have lengthy friendly chats and haven't run into any trouble so far.
