DNS help (need response ASAP)
I have a .com domain registered. I had it set up with 1and1 with the free 3 year package. The package is expiring very soon so I wanted to switch services. I basically only use it for email forwarding so I switched it to Zoneedit.com and set up MailForwads. The problem I am having is that it is not reliable. Some emails are delayed for hours and some are dropped completely. Please let me know if there is any other solutions that I can be using. I cannot keep losing my emails so a quick response would be much appreciated.
On a side note. My registrar is lara.on.ca which is very costly ($19/year). How does the domain registrar transfer process work? Will I lose service for a time period? Is there one that includes email forwarding?
Thanks

Anyone?
People must be having the same issues now the 1and1 preview is over. What about registrars that offer email forwarding. I know that godaddy doesn't, I wasn't able to find a reliable one that does.

Well, I did quite a bit of "research" to find a good registrar
In the end, I went with namecheap. The forums I read had good reviews. Their webpage setup looked very clean. They had the services I needed (both .com and .ca at reasonable (not dirt cheap) prices) and they had good DNS control (A, C, MX records) and they had Dynamic DNS support.
Registration of new domains and transferring of an existing one was fast ... Once configured, it sure didn't take long for test emails to get through. Everything has been working pretty smoothly for the last couple of months.
I can't comment on their email forwarding.

I use NamesPro.ca. $12.88 for .ca domains, $18.88 for .com domains... but you can get 30% the .com registration using the promo code talkdomains_30offdotcom. So it comes to $14.01 (CAD) after GST is added.
Their mail forwarding has been very reliable for me.
And I've received excellent support any time I've contacted them.
The posts at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=574890 should give you some info about transfering out of 1and1.
