Do ads in more "refined" magazines influence your buying?
Are ads in magazines like National Geographic, Maclean's or Time more enticing than those in other "mainstream" magazines like People?
The reason I am asking is because I subscribe to National Geographic and I just bought something from an ad I saw in that magazine.
To be honest, the fact the ad was in National geographic did influence my decision to buy the item. Just want to know what you think.

No. I don't even pay attention to ads in magazines which to me are clutter to be ignored. I have done several online surveys on ads from specific issues of magazines that I have read and didn't even recall seeing most of the ads before.

I completely agree with Cheap Cat. If I'm looking at a magazine, I'm looking at it for the content and not the ads. I almost never remember them or pay attention to them.

No. I look at high-end magazines for inspiration on what's available. The price of some items are completely outrageous. $50,000 for a wooden table? No thanks.

There are no apostrophes in plurals! "I have 1000 posts" = correct. "I have 1000 post's" = incorrect!
Could'

ve. It's simple English, people!
Voila: French, meaning "There it is!" or "Look!"
Viola: A medium-sized stringed instrument
Wala: An island of Vanuatu.

No. If anything, any ads, in something I've paid to view deters me from buying the item.
If I'm paying for it then it needs to be commercial free.

Exactly. +1
Take going to the movies, before Cineplex's Ultra AVX I would pay EXTRA for them to REMOVE ads and previews.
A few years, last Olympics during the Super Bowl. CTV promoted it so much, before & after each commercial that I got SICK & TIRED of it that I DIDN'T watch the Olympics at all.
