Do car batteries (Cold Crank Amps) get better?

Either (1) the battery is being drained when vehicle is off, or (2) battery isn't charging during driving. But could be (3) you short-circuited the battery.

Not sure how you cleaned in the bay, but hopefully it wasn't using water. Wipe with a degreaser on a cloth and nothing else. You can seriously mess up the electronics if you just hose it down, causing wires and electronic components to get flooded then rust.

I think one of the cells inside the battery could be bad. A bad cell can still provide a full charge open circuit voltage. Its when you add a little bit of load (ie starting the car) it can show its fangs.

That or you messed up your alternator...
