Cable shouldn't be regulated. Why should it ? It's not a basic utility - not having cable certainly never hurt anyone. You can still get basic TV channels without cable with just an antenna. Cable is still a luxury utility and they will rightfully charge whatever the market will bear.
If you want more services, like extra channels and HD, then you absolutely should pay for the privilege, otherwise where's the incentive for the company to offer that service in the first place.
If you think Rogers charges too much, check the other companies (maybe compare to satellite) and see if you can get a better price.

Do u think cable should be cheaper.
Hey is it only me or anyone else here thinks that the cable fees are ridiculously high. i mean my monthly bill for cable goes way above what i first initially singed up for. thats because of all the extra **** that u want and think it should be included but is not. such as hd. why the f*** do we need to pay so much. I think the rental for the box should be the same as the regular digital box. its the same ****. man i bet in the future some people wnt even be able to afford a regular basic cable. especially those low income family. I really think the government needs to put some regulations on the pricing of rogers services. anyway guys, what are your opinions about this topic.

I think your argument would be more compelling with a bit more swearing and a few more typos. By "a bit more compelling" I mean "somewhere between farting into a wet paper bag and yodelling a request to the Queen".
Why would the government regulate the cost of your freely chosen entertainment?_______________

I think everything shoud be cheaper, esp the telephone line, per minute calls on the cell and cable. Internet fees, I'm ok with for the most part

From a "Family" reviewer: "We Cheer teaches coordination, enticement to lust, women being used as sex objects, and team work."
From Worthy Playing: "We Cheer is, then, for all intents and purposes, the F-Zero GX of music games. It asks for so much, yet forgives so little. It is actually so casual that it's hardcore."

I do agree with you through most points. But there is a price mark on something called luxury. Just so you know what ever i've got as channels is not luxury at least i dont think so. what i would consider luxury is when some people are paying offer $200-$300 on there cable bill. this is luxury. I mean the reason why cable is so expensive in canada is because we dont have many competeters. If cable was a competative market than we would definetely benefit from that type of a market.

Yes i could have avoided my true opinions about what i think the cable compnay is doing to us is not fair. But then i wouldn't stay as my personal view of it. At least i have covered those words so no one can be offended. But if you are somehow i am really sorry. This is just my side of view i dont no what u think of it.

When I called it a luxury, I don't mean it as something for the wealthy or a high ticket item. I meant it in the sense as cable TV is non-essential and is money spent to enhance one's enjoyment.
You can still watch TV without cable - you're just paying a premium for more channels and better reception.
I don't really think our cable prices are ridiculously higher than other places. I would welcome the competition so we can better service and better channels. But between cable and satellite, most cities get a few providers.
