What do you guys do to keep in check when attending office christmas parties?
Apparently I ended up eating a lot while everyone else waited around me last year, kind of embarrasing but I have heard worse humiliating stories occuring at these parties.
Are you attending one this year?

Eating a lot isn't a big deal.
Just don't get drunk and/or mack on someone, word will go around._______________

Thats the thing, you can do pretty much anything all tear long and get away, however what happens at christmas parties seem to linger around till the next year lol._______________

+1. This personally has happened to me which made me had to switch employers.
Believe me, word spreads like wildfire. What happens at the office does not stay at the office.

Unless you have awesome co-workers or someone you wanna hit on, is there even a point to get hammered?_______________

To numb the pain of having to spend non-work hours ... at work... essentially.
If I am in any setting where taking off my pants is frowned upon, that counts as "work"._______________

Mine was the first week of dec. It was my 2nd year at the party. I love them. I was sitting with all the hottest chicks at my work. I made a move on almost all of them, but they were all taken (I guess you would expect the hot ones to be taken). I still had fun dancing with a bunch of them. Nobody said anything the next day at work. In fact they were more talkative with me then the usualy are instead of just passing me in the halway. Maybe because I hit on women like a gentleman, not a creeper. Praising them all night at the table is the creeper way of doing it btw.
Its hard to hit on women at office xmas parties tho, as the ones who go are usualy with their dates/taken. Single girls wont ever go alone. They will only come with a friend... and thats a maybe. I went alone and I think out of 600 people, I was only one of maybe 3 or 4 people to attend without a guest, and the others alone were also males. Women lack confidence to appear at these types of events alone I guess?Last edited by 007craft; Dec 14th, 2011 at 05:41 PM.

A co-worker from years ago said it best when I asked him if he's going to the Christmas party:
"Why should I? I already spend 8 hours every day with these ***holes."_______________

I share the exact sentiment. Unfortunately for me I work in a small company and if I do not attend everyone will know I am not there and they usually make a big fuss about it the next day. Everyone consider each other a friend and get upset if you do not share personal news. No privacy exists
Another good thing about working for a big company no one would give a hoot if you show upLOG IN TO THANK No one has yet thanked thestar99 for this post.
