When a car tries to change into your lane when it's driving slower than you? I don't mean the ones where it's a dangerous move and you almost hit them, I'm talking about the ones where you have enough time to slow down, but the slow down is quite severe. I find this extremely annoying

Do you consider this as getting cut off?

What I consider getting cut off is when someone merges into my lane with very short notice where I have to break or slow down.

they shouldn't really be slowing down when changing lanes, but whenever it does happen to me, i just speed up since i'm assuming that they're waiting for me to pass before they merge.
if it's a minivan or suv with stick family stickers on the back, i get the hell out of that lane.

This annoys me to no end and seems to be the only way people can change lanes in Ottawa. They either do it really fast and race to the end of the merging lane and slam on the brakes then merge going slower than the traffic is already going or simply pull into traffic going really slowly. Then they get upset that people were going the speed limit... then they speed up change lanes and continue on

The part I absolutely don't get is that their is always a kilometer of open road behind me and they insist on doing the speed limit on the nose or less. If you're in such an effing hurry then move with the flow of traffic.

For normal straight driving I think people should never switch lanes if it requires the other driver to slow down.
Unless of course it's absolutely necessary like merging/construction/etc.

If they signal their intentions well in advance for me to let them in safely then I let them in.
