Do you Drink the Pho broth?

Me, I love to drink most of it.. sometimes ALL of it. I had no idea it was 'bad' for me until my viet gf now wife told me it was bad.

Ok, if you don't.. don't you just want to?

I usually eat the pho & then drink 2 spoons & leave the rest. Its super high in sodium, enough sodium for the whole day apparently

No, once the pho's gone, it's done.

The correct thing to do is to ask for a container to take the broth home.

I usually get the XL. If I drank that it's like at least 1.5L of soup in addition to the Pho Dac biet, 3 Color shake and spring rolls.

I consume about 1/2 of it, usually. If it is really tasty, then 3/4 or so.

The broth taste great when you add the chili, lime and whatever the dish got. If I'm not full, I drink it all. It's not like I'm eating everyday.

The contents in the bowl is literally bigger than my stomach! I drink some but definitely can't do it all. It's salty but I think relative to some other broths (Japanese ramen, Chinese noodles), it's actually lighter. Whether it has MSG, I am not sure. I always felt like Viet food have less msg than Chinese food but that's just an impression and not based on any facts.

The broth is what I'm paying for, so hell ya I'm drinking all of it. All the care, recipe crafting and cook time go into the broth, that's the main part of pho.

That's partially a myth.

You know what else makes you just as thirsty? Plain old regular salt.

It depends on the quality and taste of the broth, if I really enjoy it then I will drink the whole thing or whatever I can stomach, if the broth is so-so then I just leave it behind after finishing off the noodles.

this. if i don't finish it and there's a significant amount of broth left take it home and add noodles and other accouterments for round 2.
