I'm kind of half way. I help people all the time, like holding doors open, telling directions if asked, advice, etc. I won't go completely out of my way, though. If my schedule allows it, I will help people to my full extent, but if not, there's nothing I can do.

I am a pushover (yes I know it) and go out of my way to help people. Something I really have to work on, because I usually get the short end of the stick

I was having this discussion the other day with a friend of mine but it was along the lines of helping a musician by buying their CD (or whatever you do for them).

Short: He didn't care while I wanted to go out and support what I believed in ... it was me helping.

My Analysis: I think it boils down to my willingness to go above and beyond and help people while for himself, he's the opposite and is private and would like to keep moving on his way.

I'm not better than him, he's not any better than me ... just a different outlook on life I imagine.

I will gladly help someone, but will wait until the person that needs help, asks for it. I myself am a wheelchair user and can't stand it when people try to help me with things I don't need help with.

Sometimes I help people; sometimes I don't bother.

Some people are not worth helping (example- bitchy people).

Sidenote:
sometimes people will go up to you asking for help but they are just scam artists / pickpockets who are talking to you to distract you while they steal your stuff. I was going to post a link about a bunch of pickpockets at Toronto airport but I couldn't find the link.

Yes I do but not all of them unless they deserve the help.

Yes I help people, like in Car Accidents on the side of the 401, 404 etc etc if i don't put my own life in danger I will. I help people with love advice mostly friends and will help stangers in need of directions ETC ETC.

goes with my mood. In general I help people. And more often than not, I help women more than men. if I see a guy drop a bunch of papers, I probably wouldn't bend over to help pick them up. But if I saw a woman drop papers, I'd probably lend a hand.

if I'm on the bus, I'll give my seat to anyone who's elderly, or carrying a child.

However, I could never be in the service industry. I have a low tolerance for dealing with moron's and idiots
