Curious if you tell people what your online "handle" is out in the real world.
I don't actively tell people my username and if people ask I don't really tell them unless I know them well (same username on some other sites like Chowhound). I guess I don't want people snooping through my posts to find out info on me, or, even looking at my posting habits (like, you said you were going to bed last night, but, then you posted an hour later on RFD).
I have a few real life friends that know my username but I keep it pretty private.
Curious what other people's take is on this.

Do you share your "username" with your significant other/friends?

One of the usernames I use is the same as my e-mail so it's not secret there.
I've also been using the same username for like a decade now so there's quite a few Google results about me heh
In recent years I've been trying to delete many sites I may have joined, forums or any posts that contain my name. Just don't want people to read up about all my life.
As for my significan other, he knows my username and password to many of my accounts, email and facebook. We don't check up on each other, it's more like we share the same computer sometimes and our information is saved. I got no problem with it.
Nothing to hide =)

TBH sounds like you're a bit paranoid about people stalking you, or in your example of saying "you are going to sleep then posting an hour later" it kind sounds like you might be hiding from a S/O.
I don't really post anything anywhere that I'm excessively worried about. Sometimes there are things about me that may be slightly embarrassing that someone has done with my name but is it enough to be paranoid and hide from it? not really.
In fact just for fun I did a quick browse of my name and its all relatively normal :S... I did find a funny one a few pages down under literotica that isn't me and a few other things that aren't me but all in all nothing exciting that I'd seriously be worried about someone seeing.

My BF knows I am peanutz.
I think my friends would be scared if they knew how crass/vulgar I can be.

My fiance reads these forums and knows my username (she doesn't have a login, yet...). Nowadays I really only post on one other forum and it's a different username. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure on every forum I've ever posted on with regularity, they have been different logins. No reason, just happened like that...
So outside of this shared computer, you wouldn't know each others login otherwise (i.e. you couldn't login into his FB or personal email on another computer)? I mean I have "nothing to hide" from my significant other either, but I feel it's ok/necessary to have things like that private. Hell, I'm not even friends with her on FB
(I don't really use it anymore, but still).
I don't even think I would give it to her if she asked (which she wouldn't).
Meh...

I don't go out of my way to tell people, but I don't hide it either.

I keep my online identity strictly separate from my offline life, and "entertainment" forum identity strictly separate from one I'm using on professional forums. Nobody in real world knows that I'm "NorthYorker", but some ppl know my "professional" identity. On top of that, I tend to use proxies to go to potentially flammable (political, for example) forums. I did have an experience when political forum's mod got so enraged at me not following "the one and only truth", he wrote to my employer

only a few of my friends know my username on rfd. That's only because they often browse RFD as well.

I often wish I had picked a different username so I could be more anonymous here.

A few of them knows my username in various forums, but like facebook, its a make believe one. The forums that I post my personal stuff is kept a secret.

I tell people my username all the time. A lot of friends and family know I go by "DaVibe" ... it's on my BBM as well.
Just a thing I do._______________
