I like Game of Thrones but those scenes of getting beheaded and killing with shedding of lots of blood, even the extreme nudity are really disturbing.
Besides, those criminal cases shows are really teaching people how to be a killer, don't you think?
No wonder, more and more crimes popped up these days.
Too much freedom, no censor may not be a good thing.
Freedom comes with a price.

Do you think most of the TV shows are showing too much violent scenes?

You find nudity disturbing? So, seeing the human body as nature/gods created it bothers you?
Perhaps you would be happier in a more conservative society... somewhere in western, central or southern Asia perhaps?

Ive never seen game of thrones...but i dont blame tv..i think it started with the internet...everything is accesible...& i do mean EVERYTHING.
actual murders can be viewed on-line & once you watch that crap..it is imprinted into your mind FOREVER.
also with video games people may become de-sensitized. it takes alot more to shock people.

Never seen "Game of Thrones" but I don't care about blood/gore/nudity if the show is good, which unfortunately did not apply to "Spartacus: Fake blood, sand, sex, and a load of crap".

There's not a good link between violent imagery and violent behaviour. Just because you see it, doesn't mean you do it.
People need to spend less time censoring this stuff and more time teaching children REAL vs IMAGINARY. Once that foundation is laid, you can show them the entire Saw franchise and it won't translate into deviant behaviour.

As for the violence... some of it is pretty graphic I agree. But you have the freedom to not watch. Most people choose not to watch Game of Thrones, for example.
Regarding teaching people how to be killers; you would think killers would have become smarter and would research police/forensic procedures before committing their crimes. But they don't for some reason. Homicide clearance rates don't seem to be dropping as far as I know.
One thing I've always wondered is why people don't bother wearing gloves when robbing a place. You can get relatively thin ones that still allow you to use a keyboard but will not leave your fingerprints on anything. Also, I don't understand why more killers and criminals don't wear hollywood quality masks when committing their crimes. Invest $1000-2000 in a professional quality disguise and you can ensure that the cops and witnesses end up searching for someone who looks nothing like you. Only a couple of mask-wearers have been caught; it makes me wonder how many have gotten away with their crimes as a result of this basic bit of preparation.

I don't think it induces bad behavior per se but I do think we've become more liberal with it over the years yes. If you compare kids shows today vs 10, 20 or 30 years ago, you see the trends of what was "acceptable" at each decade to be shown in various types of shows such as comedy, action and whatnot for children (and arguably the comparison could be made for general TV too). Society as a whole has become more lax and accepting of things like sex and violence over the years; it's become a commodity to us. Whether that is good or bad is debatable, but the proof is there in our media.

According to latest Stats Canada report (2010), total crime (including violent crimes) have DECLINED and have been for a few years now since the peak in 1992. Top 8 shows in 1992 were:
1. 60 Minutes
2. Roseanne
3. Murphy Brown
4. Cheers
5. Home Improvement
6. Designing Women
7. Coach
8. Full House
Perhaps your theory is wrong and should be more tv comedies = higher crime rate.

I believe in freedom of speech and that includes TV and the like.
However... I don't think that kids should be ABLE to watch this stuff. Parents should be keeping their kids off TVs as much as possible (besides approved kid shows) and monitoring them carefully.
As an adult, you can handle the images. As a child, they can't. I remember being terrified of my grandpa letting us watch Leprechaun as a young kid. Boy was my grandma mad at him lol.
I don't think kids should be watching CSI or any of that kinda stuff. Too violent, too sexual, too brain twisting for a youngun.

Don't think it's an issue of censorship as things like pornography and violent movies/TV have existed for decades. I think it's just a question of what society and the average TV watcher want and can tolerate nowadays vs before. Social norms change. Reality TV shows are a good example of things that have boomed a lot more in the past decade that weren't so popular before.
