Does any ISP still sell shell / login accounts?

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone is still offering just a shell login for DSL service. Thinking of upgrading to Bell's 50 or 175Mbit line to use. Are there any adverse effects from doing this? Will shell provider be ok if you use 1TB a month?

Do you mean shell login as like a unix account you would ssh into? I dont think Ive seen any isp offer one of those in ages (although awesome you posted that, brings back memories, lol). Would probably just be easier to get a VPS if you need a shell box.

If you mean using a different pppoe login I dont believe any of the dsl providers offer login accounts anymore, Teksavvy and nexicom (and others?) had them but think they removed them. Also believe the higher bell tiers are not on the same pppoe things that the lower tiers use (so a 3rd party log in wouldnt work anyways?)

I was referriing to the latter.Heard about Teksavvy offering it but also as you mentioned, it was removed. Actually didn't think about the different setup for different tiered speeds. Does anyone know how fast they can grab a 10GB file off Newsgroup is on the 175Mbit service?
