Does anyone else think Kelsey's and Montanas are going downhill?

I can't imagine a place with dump and serve food that is constantly looking to cut food and labour costs going anywhere but downhill. Most of those places I see being short staffed all the time with high turnover.
Seems to be a Cara issue though. I don't see it at other casual dining places. In fact my last 3 non-Cara meals have all had good service and food (Jack Astors, Lone Star and Fion McCools).
That might be true. I see those chain examples as more bar-focused than the Cara experiences...that could be a reason.

Not that I know of - mostly younger girls 18-24 for servers.

Somewhere
I haven't been to any Cara restaurants in recent memory.

In Toronto, there are plenty of smaller, local, independent shops with better selection and quality. It MAY be a little pricier, but I'm willing to spend that to support local chefs and businesses.

Our kelseys closed down a few years ago. The one time I did go the wings were so stupid over priced, we had one beer, and were never back

I honestly don't find anything "overpriced" on their menu.

Problem is more service (or lack there of) and quality of food. It's a shame because what they offer looks good, it's just a lack of execution. I go to Chillis or Applebees in the U.S. and it's the opposite - great service and really good food coming out.

I was all excited to try it until I realized it's on Ontario.
So I guess I'm not trying Lone Star.

Anyone tried AYCE at Lone Star? I agree the AYCE ribs at Montana's is a joke when they serve only two ribs at a time after the first serving.

two ribs like two bones?
Yes, two to three bones. And I usually take charred pieces out and probably there was nothing left.

Lone Star has not expanded as quickly as I think they could have - not sure why.

That said - quality is always good so maybe that's the secret. Don't expand too fast!
