Anyone tried AYCE at Lone Star? I agree the AYCE ribs at Montana's is a joke when they serve only two ribs at a time after the first serving.

two ribs like two bones?
Yes, two to three bones. And I usually take charred pieces out and probably there was nothing left.
wow that sucks, when i went i got 2 small racks of ribs with each refill for their AYCE ribs, they had maybe 4-5 bones in each small rack, they were smaller ribs than the one you get at first though

My last 3 visits to Cara sit down restaurants have been all poor experiences
Here's hoping that your bad Kelsey's and Montanas experiences won't suddenly start happening at Pickle Barrel also, now that Cara foods recently bought them...and the Keg too!!

Montanas has gotten way better since they switched to more of a BBQ menu

This is an old thread.....

Great, but what about Kelsey's?
They've renovated some locations, but the look of the place doesn't make a place.
The food quality matters also.

The problem I have with Kelsey's is that it is always too noisy.
Even with the renovations, the noise is still there.
They had a chance to figure out how to cut down on noise during renovations but did not make it a priority.
Therefore, I still tend to avoid the place.

they literally had no customers at lunch at the Elgin mills/Leslie location

I'd go with friends in high school for half priced wings, we were the only ones there other than 2-3 other tables and they probably has 20-30 tables
did Kelseys have all you can eat wings? I can't remember but I think they did 2011 and earlier

Way back in time (perhaps early 00's?) they had an AYCE wing night and also another night of AYCE fajitas.

I remember going to AYCE wings at Kelseys in high school with my family, I think it had to have been 2011/2010 maybe 2012
Thats when I went to montana's all you can eat ribs too (same year)

It think I found it, although, I think I must have gone in 2010 because I don't remember all those flavours. There was maybe 5-6 flavours, not 10

https://www.redflagdeals.com/deal/resta ... from_sund/

I remember honey garlic wings, another sweet sauce and a barbecue sauce and hot sauce flavour
pretty much just ate honey garlic wings, and I think I tried the barbecue one round but the honey garlic was way better

btw, anyone now what honey garlic sauce restaurants use for wings? Its not the same as the honey garlic sauce in grocery stores. The one I restaurants are a light colour, more honey coloured, thick, not as thick as honey but thicker than sweet and sour sauce. The honey garlic at grocery stores is black, it looks like a dark sweet ad sour sauce. taste way saltier, different type of sweetness and isn't thick, it's quite watery

Most restaurants use ED Smith Saucemaker Honey Garlic Sauce. (I’m a chef and have used it at a few places)

Only place I’ve ever seen it resale is wholesale club or national grocers. Perhaps Costco business centre if you’re in Toronto. Most foodservice distributors carry it, and some sell to the public. Best to call and ask, I know where to buy it in Vancouver and that’s it.

True.. I may have to give them another whirl at some point.

I have been back to Kelseys a couple of months ago and it was better. New menus and renovated.

I was going to go to the Montannas at Don Mills and Steeles, but I've learned the hard way that it's an abandoned building now.
Next time I think I'll call first before heading out to one. lol
