sure, empires fall and rise, but no one can say when. they can guess, but they tend to forget that they had guessed wrong the last ten timesOriginally Posted by rocketman123
when ever people are scared and don't know what to expext, they expect the worse. While us Westerners may say bad times are head, maybe, just maybe, those enslaved by our policies (whatever they may be, good and bad) might see the times ahead as a golden age or a time for freedom and opportunity.
as long as humanity survives, it's all good.

Does history repeat itself?
Do you all believe that history repeats itself? All the falls of all the great empires that were built before our time and their downfalls. Do you think such a thing will happen again or are we better prepared for it than the people in the past?

Isn't this just a saying by those that wish to be metaphorical, proverbial and philosophical and so definitely should not to be taken literally?

I believe that as soon as we forget our history, it will repeat itself.

I forgot that licorice (in great quantities) give me wicked gas.
Those who forget their past are doomed to repeat.
Today is no exception.

No. It's like fashion. Something like it will happen again, but it'll be totally different.
