Does staples have a service to digitalize books?
Basically I want to make one of my school's textbook into a pdf, does staples have this service? (I have a scanner but it will take wayyy too long to do with it)

No, because it would be illegal to do that.

Even if I own the book myself? (I have the receipt here to prove it) I go to uoit - the laptop university and it would just make it better for me cause we take the laptops to class and then I wouldnt have to carry both the laptop and the book

Unfortunate, but true. Just get a couple of friends that want to exclusively use a digital copy and split the book up.

Yes, even if you own the book...and even if you want to digitalize it for your edumacation. If you wrote and published the book yourself, then that's a different story (but you wouldn't need Staples or a scanner to make a PDF for you then).

Yeah, I guess you might call it unfortunate - but only if you never plan to do anything creative in your life.
For anyone who writes, composes, directs - copyright is their livliehood...
